Employee Spotlight: Jenny del Castillo

Welcome to Hyosung’s employee spotlight! Our November Spotlight is on Jenny del Castillo, Service Financial Manager. "Jenny is vivacious, loyal and dedicated. She puts in tireless efforts, and always makes herself available regardless of what is going on. Jenny has been instrumental in not only rebuilding the services billing and finance team, but also in creating processes to streamline customer billings” Jeannie Moreira, Director of Service Strategy.

Get to know more about Jenny below!

Q: How long have you worked at Hyosung? What was your start date?

A: I worked with Hyosung for almost 5 years. I started in February, 2018

Q: Can you tell us a little more about your background and how you joined the company in 2018?

A: I’m originally from Cuba. I majored in Economics from UNT. A former coworker told me about a job opportunity in the Accounting department in Hyosung. I had a background in Billing and the job description matched perfectly what I was looking for.

Q: What was your first impression of Hyosung?

A: My first impression at Hyosung was that I was about to learn a lot about ATMs! I was very impressed with the work ethics of my team and fascinated about the ATM industry.

Q: Are there any important skills or attributes that are important for someone that wants to pursue a career as a Product Marketing Manager? Is there anything about your job or your team that you think people outside would find surprising or different in the way you/it works?

A: Most people see my role as number crushing, but I believe the most important skill is to build a good relationship with your team and customers. I have the opportunity to interact with multiple departments in Hyosung and I’m always learning from all my coworkers. I work very closely with other departments to ensure we provide the most accurate information to our customer in a timely manner.

Q: Can you tell us about your role and summarize your day-to-day responsibilities?

A: Part of my role as a Service Financial Manager is to ensure our customers are billed promptly and correctly and of course that we collect that money.

Q: What inspires you every day?

A: My family and friends (including my Hyosung friends) are my continuous source of inspiration.

Q: In 5 years what do you want to achieve or where do you see you yourself?

A: I would like to keep growing in my career in Hyosung. I’m planning to enroll in a few classes that will sharpen my financial and leadership skills, so in 5 years I’m hoping to be a better version of myself.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?

A: I like to spend time with my family and I enjoy to travel and get to know other cultures. I also have a side business, a fun way to challenge my entrepreneur side

Q: Do you have favorite memory or standout accomplishment during your time at Hyosung?

A: I had so many great memories in these almost 5 years in Hyosung, and met so many special people, but definitely the best times had Korean food. I loved my time in the Accounting team, and how we surpassed all the challenges we faced during COVID. In my new chapter in the Service team, I had met so many helpful and kind people that made this transition a little bit less challenging and a lot more fun.
