Meet Maricris Macaraeg
AR Accountant
Q: How long have you worked at Hyosung, and when did you start?
A: I’ve been with Hyosung for five years. I started as a billing specialist around September 2020 and was offered a full-time position on 11/10/2020.
Q: Can you tell us a little more about your background and how you joined the company?
A: I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University and began my career in accounts receivable, where I built a strong foundation in managing customer accounts and maintaining accurate financial records. I later joined American Airlines and progressed from accounting specialist to team lead in cargo revenue accounting. I joined the company to continue growing professionally while contributing my accounting expertise in a collaborative, detail-focused environment.
Q: What was your first impression of Hyosung?
A: My first impression of Hyosung was that it is a professional, well-organized company with a strong focus on teamwork and continuous improvement. I immediately noticed how supportive and approachable everyone was, especially the accounting team, which made the transition smooth and welcoming.
Q: Are there any important skills or attributes for someone pursuing a career here? Anything surprising about your role or team?
A: Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and collaboration are essential for success at Hyosung. Communication is also key, as many tasks require coordination across different departments. One thing that may surprise people is how closely we work together and how much support is available, internal departments we partner with are always willing to help and share knowledge.
Q: Can you summarize your day-to-day responsibilities?
A: My day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing accounts, resolving billing discrepancies, supporting reporting and audits, and collaborating with my team to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Q: What inspires you every day?
A: God and family inspire me to do my best every day, to honor the life given to me by God and to provide for my family. I am also motivated to continuously learn, improve, and make a positive impact through my work.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: In five years, I see myself continuing to grow professionally, taking on greater responsibilities, and contributing at a higher level. Whether through leadership, mentorship, or expanded expertise, my goal is to add long-term value to the organization while continuing to develop my skills.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, attending church every weekend, and finding ways to relax and recharge.
Q: Do you have a favorite memory or standout accomplishment at Hyosung?
A: One of my favorite accomplishments at Hyosung has been successfully collaborating with my team to resolve complex issues while meeting deadlines. Moments like these highlight the strength of teamwork and reinforce why I enjoy being part of this organization.
